University Folklorico Summit
The University Folklorico Summit (UFS), an initiative of Danzantes Unidos, is a three-day leadership and cultural arts conference designed for collegiate folklorico groups. UFS provides a forum for university folklorico group leaders to meet, share their best practices, and strategize for their communities. UFS strives to educate the next generation of folklorico student leaders of the multiple facets and characteristics that make up an efficient and sustainable university folklorico group.
University Folklorico Summit UFS 2019 “Equilibrio: Finding Your Balance In Folklorico . . . and Life” is hosted by Raices de Mi Tierra de UCSB on November 15, 16 & 17 at the University of California, Santa Barbara. UFS 2019 participants will have an opportunity to attend panels–Models in Collegiate Folklorico: Sharing Successes & Challenges; Financial Literacy: The Business End of Folklorico (addressing the business end of managing group budgets and contracts); Mental Health Awareness & Strategies for Positive Outcomes; LGBTQ Inclusivity & Social Awareness. The weekend will close with two movement workshops with DUF Maestros, Cindy Padilla & Omar Quezada (see detail below). Student leaders (ages 18+) of folklorico groups in universities and colleges, as well as, administrators & directors of high school folklorico groups are encouraged to participate.
UFS 2019 Sunday Movement Sessions with DUF Maestros
UFS strives to educate the next generation of folklorico student leaders of the multiple facets and characteristics that make up an efficient and sustainable university folklorico group. By the end of this summit, it is the hope that all participants will carry the shared experience back to their respective schools and nurture their folklorico groups to continue developing as strong representatives of our shared history, cultura, and experience.

UFS 2019 Registration
Registration for UFS 2019 is $40. All registration information will be processed online and is payable by ATM or credit card. Please note that registration fees are non-refundable.
UFS 2019 can each accommodate up to 80 registrants. On-site registration will be limited to remaining space available.
Registration deadline: November 15, 5pm
Onsite Registration begins on Saturday, November 16 at 8am at UCSB, MCC Lounge.
