Danzantes Unidos DUF 2026 “Nurturing the Light” welcomes Mayra Villalobos teaching Folklorico Juniors: Nuevo Leon, Jalisco, & Costa Nayarit; ages 6 & 7.

Mayra Villalobos was born in Tepic, Nayarit, and has dedicated over 25 years of her life to the art of folklórico dance. She began her formal dance journey during her senior year at Clovis High School and continued her training at Fresno City College, where she took folklórico classes and later joined a local folklórico group in Fresno. It was there that she met her husband, with whom she has shared 17 years of marriage and a deep love for dance.

Mayra is the proud mother of two children—an 11-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son—who both share her passion for folklórico. With more than 22 years of teaching experience, Mayra has worked primarily with young dancers, from kindergarten through fourth grade. Since 2021, she has been an active member of the King Culture Center as both a parent and a dance instructor. Known for her patience, warmth, and love of learning, Mayra proudly embraces her folklórico life and the community it creates.

Danzantes Unidos Festival DUF 2026 “Nurturing the Light” will take place March 27, 28 & 29 in Fresno, CA.
