Maestro Spotlight: Samuel Gonzalez-Betancourt

Maestro Samuel Gonzalez-Betancourt is the Executive Director and Artistic Directo of Orgullo Mestizo Folk Ballet. His dance training extends beyond Folklorico, also tapping into ballet, jazz and modern dance. In Southern California, Samuel has also danced with Grandeza Mexicana and trained with Pacifico Dance Co.

Maestro Samuel was born in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. He began his dance training at a young age and has danced since. Passionate about communication through language, Mr. Gonzalez earned his Bachelor’s degree in linguistics and is now working on his Master’s Degree in human behavior.
