Danzantes Unidos is proud to announce Festival Sin Fronteras 2023 – Merida from December 31 to January 5 in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. This event marks the fourth foray into Mexico to bring Danzantes closer to the root source of folklorico. The week will offer movement classes in dance repertoire from the State of Yucatan focusing on The Jarana Yucateca, La Vaqueria Yucateca, Danzón & La Lengua Maya. Additionally, workshops will be offered in cultural arts with a focus on traditional embroidery “Xoc-bilchuy” & Pintura Maya. Daily lectures will offer insights into healing practices, Yucatan history, costuming & local cuisine.

Participant Registration includes a Coctel de Bienvenida on December 31 from 4-6pm; a day tour of the archeological site at Chichenitza followed by a dip in a Cenote and visit to the Pueblo Mágico town of Izamal; workshop instruction for four days of classes with three sessions per day running from January 1 to 5. For those selecting crafting classes, a supply kit will be available for purchase onsite for $20 for embroidery & $25 for painting.
Companion Registration includes a Coctel de Bienvenida on December 31 from 4-6pm; a day tour of the archeological site at Chichenitza followed by a dip in a Cenote and visit to the Pueblo Mágico town of Izamal; the Class Recital and access to any available Mayan Language classes.
