Festival Sin Fronteras YUCATÁN 2023

Danzantes Unidos is proud to announce Festival Sin Fronteras 2023 – Merida from December 31 to January 5 in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. This event marks the fourth foray into Mexico to bring Danzantes closer to the root source of folklorico. The week will offer movement classes in dance repertoire from the State of Yucatan focusing on The Classics, Repertorio for K12 educators, and a Creative Lab for directors. Possibly, if there is interest, we will include Danzon. Additionally, workshops will be offered in handicrafts: cross-stitch embroidery used in Ternos; as well as Sisal weaving (hammock weaving). Music classes will include percussion and voice classes. Daily lectures will offer insights into healing practices & local cuisine, Yucatan history, costuming & music.

Your Registration will include a Coctel de Bienvenida on December 31 4-6pm; a day tour of the archeological site at ChichenItza followed by a dip in a Cenote with buffet dinner and visit to the Pueblo Magico town of Izamal; four days of classes with lecture & three sessions per day running from January 1 to 5. All classes will take place at the hotel. Fees quoted for the hotel will include breakfast (insert breakfast menu) with optional add-on lunch (insert lunch menu). Non-workshop taking registered ‘Companions’ may attend the Coctel de Bienvenida, Day Excursion to Chichen Itza, Daily Lectures & Class Recital. Companions will be directed to half-day tours during the week while students are in classes.

For those that can arrive earlier, we will recommend additional package excursions to nearby attractions.

We recommend that you book your hotel reservation today as these are also ‘dias de fiesta’ for the City of Merida as they celebrate the anniversary of the City.
