Maestro Spotlight – Cesar Alejandro Orta Aldaba
Maestro Cesar Alejandro Orta began his dance career in the year 1989 under the direction of Maestra Rita Cobos Lugo. Afterward, he became a member of the Ballet Folklórico Rarajipame directed by Maestro Victor Barriga Gallegos. He is a graduate of the Escuela Superior de Danza Folklorica in Chihuahua, where he studied under Maestro Marcelo Torreblanca. He is also alumni from the Escuela de la Danza Mexicana in Tepic, Nayarit where he studied under Maestro Jaime Buentello Bazan.
Maestro Orta has also been a member of many Folklorico groups including: Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua II & Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social y Secretaria de Agricultura, Ganadería y Desarrollo Rural. As a dancer, he has participated in many festivals, cultural encounters and competitions across Mexico as well as the United States and Europe.
He has conducted folklorico courses for a number of groups across Mexico, which include: the Ballet Folklórico de la Universidad de Guanajuato, Ballet Mexcaltitán del Gobierno del Estado de Nayarit, Compañía de Danza Folklórica de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León and Ballet Folklórico de la Universidad de Tamaulipas. Maestro Orta has taught other groups in the Mexican states of Baja California, Sonora, Sinaloa, Colima, Tabasco, Yucatán, Michoacán, Estado de México, Jalisco, Coahuila and Distrito Federal.
He is the winner of the National Polka Competition, “Prof. Jesús Daniel Andrade González,” in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon in 2006 and 2011. He has participated as a judge in various statewide and national dance competitions, in both traditional and modern dance. Today, Maestro Cesar directs the group Ballet Folkloriko Nawezari del Cbtis 158. The group has toured in various parts of the Mexican Republic, Unites States and Europe. Currently, Mr. Orta teaches Folklorico dance in CEDART “David Alfaro Siqueiros” in the city of Chihuahua as part of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes.

Maestro Orta will be teaching some of the most representative dances of the state of Baja California Sur: LA FLOR DE PITAYA , LA POLKA EL TUPE, EL CHOTIS LAS CALABAZAS Y LOS TRADICIONALES CHAVERANES.
DUF 2017 “Alma Indigena” will take place on April 7, 8 & 9 in Fresno, CA.
