Danzantes Unidos DUF 2026 “Nurturing the Light” welcomes Christopher Sandoval teaching Folklorico Jr. High: Guerrero, Michoacan, & Guanajuato; ages 10 & 11.

Christopher Sandoval has been serving communities from California to Texas via the cultural performing arts for 15 years as an instructor and choreographer, and has been a part of the Mexican Folk Dance community in California for the past 27 years. Receiving most of his artistic experience within the dance ensemble Danza Folkorica Puro Corazon from Buena Park, CA and the collegiate dance organization at Cal State Fullerton, Ballet Folklorico de CSUF, Christopher continues his commitment to serving youth via the cultural performing arts in elementary schools for the past 10 years. He is currently leading the dance program for 500+ students at KIPP Iluminar Dance Academy in East Los Angeles, directs a local recreational student team named Danza Folklorica de Huntington Park, and instructs social dance workshops for Latin Rhythms & Banda across California.

I learned these regions from my own student experiences from ANGF, DUF, and other coalition based workshops in the US, and later choreographed them for younger dance teams. I can provide materials for all three regions. — Christopher Sandoval
