Folklorico Red Carpet – Horacio Heredia
Danzantes Unidos DUF 2026 “Nurturing the Light” welcomes Horacio Heredia teaching Folklorico High: Jalisco & Nuevo Leon; ages 13-17.
Horacio Heredia is a faculty member in the Theatre and Dance Department Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He also teaches at various local dance studios in the community. Heredia’s choreography work has been presented at Allan Hancock’s Dance Department, Orchesis Dance Company, the American College Dance Association conference and the HH11 Dance Festival in Santa Barbara. He has performed with dance companies such as Variable Velocity Performance Group, Ballet Theater San Luis Obispo, Deyo Dances, and Civic Ballet San Luis Obispo. He earned a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
In this class, students will learn dances from the regions of Jalisco and Nuevo Leon Centro. This class is designed for intermediate-level dancers with 2 or more years of folklorico experience. In this class, we will also discuss folklorico groups and opportunities at the university level. We hope you join us in learning some intricate footwork, faldeo, and partner work
