Danzantes Unidos DUF 2026 “Nurturing the Light” welcomes Maria Valdovinos Pascual teaching Folklorico Juniors: Baja CA Norte, Michoacan Tierra Caliente, Sinaloa; ages 9 & 10.

Maria Valdovinos Pascual is the Founder and Artistic Director of Ballet Folklorico Raices Mexicanas de Maria Valdovinos, established in 2006. Under her leadership, the organization has grown into one of the region’s largest folklórico programs, serving more than 200 students through 12 structured classes taught by eight instructors. In addition to her artistic leadership, Maria is a full-time educator with Stockton Unified School District, teaching Pre-K through 8th grade. She integrates cultural arts, youth development, and inclusive instructional practices into her classroom, strengthening student engagement and cultural understanding. Her work centers on preserving and elevating traditional Mexican folklórico through high-quality instruction, accessible programming, and authentic cultural representation. Maria collaborates with schools, nonprofits, and cultural institutions to expand arts access for youth and families. She also operates a small business specializing in custom folklórico footwear and costumes. Maria remains committed to fostering culturally rich spaces where students develop discipline, identity, and pride through dance.
