
Maestro Spotlight – Eleazar Rodarte
Eleazar Rodarte is originally from Tepic, Nayarit. At the age of seven he began his studies at the Escuela de Danza del Casa de la Cultura.. He ultimately joined the Grupo de Danza Nayar, first as a dancer and later as an instructor. Since then, his interest has been to disseminate the beauty of culture through dance.
He was fortunate to have as teachers and role models the famous Maestros Angel Andrade and Zoila Nava. He is a graduate of the Escuela Especial de Bellas Artes de Tepic, Nayarit and has been a member of the Instituto de Investigación y Difusión de la Danza Mexicana A.C.
He is the founder and director of the Los Angeles based company, Grupo Folklórico Mexcaltitan. Founded in 1996, the group strives to preserve culture via the presentation of traditional dance and to create a strong community that proudly expresses it’s love for dance.

Maestro Rodarte will teach dances from Huasteca region of the State of Tamaulipas: El Caporal; Chaparreras; El Caballito; El Tamaulipeco & El Huasteco
DUF 2017 “Alma Indigena” will take place on April 7, 8 & 9 in Fresno, CA.
