Maestro Spotlight: Eleazar Rodarte

Eleazar Rodarte was born in the Mexican State of Nayarit where he graduated from a special arts school specializing in folkloric dance. His passion for dance began at the early age of 7 years old. He belonged to the group Danza Nayar for fifteen years. He also had the opportunity to direct the children’s group in La Casa de la Cultura de Tepic Nayarit in 1986. He is a current member of El Instituto de Investigacion y Difusion de la Danza Mexicana A.C.

Eleazar’s line of work focuses in the traditional styles of Folklorico. He has given several workshops in different parts of Mexico and in the U.S. at Danzantes Unidos. He currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. and leads the group of which he is the founder and director of, Grupo Folklorico Mexcaltitan. He founded the group in 1996 and has since been an active participant in many Mexican cultural events.

At DUF 2016

Maestro Eleazar will teach the region of San Luis Potosi for adults at an intermediate/advanced level; ages 18+.
