Maestro Rudy Figueroa is a native of Tulare, California. He began his training in Mexican dance under the guidance of Roman Morones, co-director of Lop Lupenos de San Jose. He then became a member of the company and served as assistant to Maestro Morones in his teaching for community dance classes. He also danced as a member of Xochipilli, Algeria de San Jose and as a guest dancer with Los Cenzontles. Additionally, he was an instructor for the University of San Diego summer extension classes in Guadalajara, Mexico for three summers. He is currently an instructor for the Academy of Los Lupenos de San Jose, where he has been teaching for over a decade. Collectively, Maestro Rudy has specialized in teaching children and beginners for over half a century.

Join your child on a musical dance journey as they learn unique musical rhythms, are introduced to imitative dance movements and practice school readiness skills.

Coupled with hands-on arts activities, this “parent and me” workshop introduces the youngest members of the folklorico community to Mexican folk dance movement and music. This workshop is perfect for beginner dancers. Every student must be accompanied by a parent or chaperone.

Note: Please register only the child. Students are requested to bring their favorite nap blanket and stuffed animal. Adults may bring theirs also.
