Thrive To Survive – DUF 2021 is coming!

Feliz Año Nuevo!  We hope that you have all been sheltering safely with familia and at home.  Sadly, this pandemic will not end anytime soon and DUF days are upon us once again. For Danzantes Unidos, 2021 will be a real test of our ability to survive as an organization.  In order to do so, we must thrive through this pandemic and we hope that you will join us. The good news is that even throughout this isolation period, many of you have found ways to remain connected with your cultura through dance.  These are the roots that bind us together.

In the spirit of ‘si se puede’, Danzantes Unidos Festival 2021 “Unidos por nuestras raices” will be a virtual experience — and one like no other before it.  DUF 2021 activities and workshops will span over a seven day period with Opening Ceremonies on Sunday, March 21 and culminating with Closing Ceremonies on Sunday, March 28.

DUF participants will be able to participate in six unique movement sessions via one-hour, pre-recorded lessons with repertoire from the States of: Baja California, Baja California Sur, Campeche, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Colima, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Michoacan, Nayarit, Nuevo Leon, Oaxaca, Puebla, Queretero, San Luis Potosi, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Yucatan, Zacatecas–plus Azteca Danza & Drum & Theater Dance.

Danzantes Unidos gives a big shout out and thanks to the DUF 2020 registrants that have been ‘holding in place’ since last year.  You will receive a coupon code by email to register for classes before regular registration opens up.

We hope that together we can #DUFThriveToSurvive through 2021 so that we can physically come together once again next year.  Meantime, please stay safe and sheltered.

Sinceramente,

Maria Luisa Colmenarez
Executive Director, Danzantes Unidos
